SUMMARY:Growing Peat Free in Scotland by Scott H Smith
DESCRIPTION:With a ban on peat-based garden media seemingly inevitable within the United Kingdom (UK); questions arise regarding what the replacement peat-free products are\, and how they can be used by the average amateur gardener to cultivate plants successfully. \nTo provide salient yet concise information to the amateur gardener now finding themselves in unfamiliar growing territory; Scott H. Smith focused his final Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Master of Horticulture (MHort) dissertation on exploring what peat-free mediums presently exist on the UK market. \nFurthermore\, by performing a planting trial based at his home in near Aberdeen\, with non-specialist equipment; he garnered results which he hopes will provide essential information for all gardeners. \nUltimately\, he hopes that this information will provide greater growing success for the amateur gardener and therefore increased peat-free buyer confidence.
